In Memory Of A Hero ...

Sergeant Jacob F. Livesey 1980-2008:

A brave soldier, hilariously lovable little brother, caring and respectful son, and the best uncle—ever! Jake was (and still is) my youngest sibling. He died while serving in the military under suspicious circumstances. These circumstances were never fully divulged, but eventually there were arrests made. He died about five weeks before his fourth round of deployment. It took us over two weeks to finally have his body released for burial. His death was sudden, and inexplicable. It happened on base in Colorado, Fort Carson.
I hope in his peace he knows how much of a Hero he is to me, and that we miss him too much to express.
My favorite quote from Peter Pan is: "To die would be an awfully big adventure." Jacob has moved on to that next big adventure, and someday, perhaps, his family can join him.

This blog is to all the Hero's who have fallen, and to all those who are still fighting for our freedom, thank you doesn't express the gratitude I wish to convey, but you--the hero's--are in my heart and thoughts.

Thats a sad, but beautiful story, nishi.

Thank you, Sergeant Jacob F. Livesey for giving your life for us. Thank you, so sounds so silly, but there are no words for what he has done for us...none.

I'm glad you were able to share the magic of each others souls in this life...may he move on into his next phase with the grace in which he lived. Peace, Friend Nishi in your hour of sorrow, and in your loving memories of your Uncle.

I'm an idiot. I hope you can forgive me, I read it quickly, too quickly responded, called your dear little brother your Uncle, and thus blew any chance at a graceful response. sigh. Forgive me my wayy off blunder, and may your youngest sibling, watching us within the winds, get a laugh at what an idiot you have for a friend. Peace, Nishi, I only wish I could turn back the clock and rewind the earth for you, Dear.

Oh, Widow Kate--you are not an idiot! In fact, you are brilliant--I know, because I've read some of your stuff over at The Steampunk Empire! I thank you for the kind words though, they are appreciated.
I have a feeling my little bro is causing some seriously hilarious ruckus where ever he his--he was such a jokester! Cheers ... N

I'm a little late to the game here, but I'm so sorry your brother died. He must have loved you very much.

I know this post was from a long time ago, but with Jake's death anniversary of 5 years coming up next week, I have once again been desperately searching for pictures of him for my memorial wall. If you could contact me and possibly send some, that would be much appreciated. Jake will never be forgotten as he is impossible to forget. my email is annemarie.mustin@yahoo.com

So many things I would like to write here. Jake and I were both in C 204th. We lived in the same barracks and shared some of the best times of my life together. When I got the knock on my door that morning and Jake was gone it felt like my world crashed. I found this page today because I was thinking about him and just googled his name. I still feel like he could walk through my door at any moment. If I can put it into words I'll tell you about the trip to the adult book/toy store 3 days after my first back surgery.

Thank you Travis for the response. I would absolutely love to hear the story of you and my lil' bro. I miss him so much. He was light in my family. If you get a chance, please send any Jake anecdotes or fond memories, we would love to hear them.

Man I miss Jake. He was one of a kind. We were very close after our first deployment to Iraq in 2003 and our families always hung out either barbecuing or at the beach. We had some good times and great stories. Still thinking of you. Welcome Doc, with open arms now that you both have been reunited.

I knew Jake's dad since I was in 3rd grade, he was my brother's best friend. I'd never seen his dad cry before, then I saw him sobbing when he he found out about Jake's death, and it broke my heart. Jake's dad was a Marine and now both are buried at the same National cemetery in Central California.

I've known make since 6th grade. He was an amazing person. He had the biggest heart. It's still hard to fathom he's gone and I share often memories of him. He's touched so many people in his short life and it was truly a blessing to every life he touched. He will always be "Lipton". #59 forever
